How do Elephants sleep?

Elephants are one of the most fascinating creatures on earth. They are huge and majestic, but also gentle and caring. And as it turns out, they are quite mysterious too! For example, did you know that elephants sleep differently than any other animal?

Elephants are actually the only mammal that can’t jump. This is because their bones are so dense and heavy. And yet, despite their size and weight, elephants are very good at swimming! But back to the original topic; elephants sleeping habits.

First, elephants usually only sleep for about two hours a day. But they don’t sleep all at once like we do. Instead, they take short naps throughout the day and night. Second, elephants don’t sleep lying down like we do. Instead, they often stand up or lie on their side.
